Contest - A Fat Female SuperheroI'm a regular reader of Escher Girls, so when I read the latest post this morning, I was deeply concerned. The following post was submitted to Eschergirls and was not made by me. The artist is Selkiesiun
I DID NOT DRAW THIS PICTURE. :iconselkiesiun: DID. THIS IS A QUOTE OF HER EXPERIENCES.
I AM ONLY RELAYING THE INFORMATION.

"This is not so much a critique post as it is a conformation of how absurd the standards of art in the comic book industry have become.
I traveled to San Diego Comic Con this year and participated in the portfolio reviews they where holding from Thursday to Sunday. Althoug

Anyhu, on to the critique.
I really really really really like the colouring, everything with the colours are perfect! Beautiful, stylish, the colours work and it compliments well.
My issue is the anatomy, or actually the face, arms and hands.
The face looks a bit, off, I'm not sure why, I may have to put it in photoshop and study it, but it just feels like the shape is wrong.
The hands I'm sure you realise is bad. Go take some photos of yourself. The one on the left looks like a strange dog paw and the one on the right looks squished.
The arms need some definition too, shes a super hero, give her some form. Her arms are, weirdly angular, especially around the forearm area, I know when I was doing martial arts I had some muscle, it wasn't body builder, but there was a definite shape.
I really like the background, the colours, the shapes, the implementation of art nouveau and overall image. Just a few flaws anatomically.
The lines, coloring, and shading are well executed.
I love the concept. Having sonic powers come from her hands is something I haven't seen before; the typical source is the throat, and I like that you didn't go with the typical thing.
I like that she is cheerful and confident (the S-curve highlights her belly, so she must be very comfortable with herself).
The orange flourish in the background could be improved with a highlight, like maybe a silver-age shine gradient, so it looks like a silk or gross-grain ribbon?
She does a good job of showing that you don't have to be skinny to be sexy.
